Vinyl is making a comeback. To be frank, it is back. Whats In The Crate? is here to not just keep the records spinning but to build a community for vinyl enthusiasts far and wide, keeping alive the spirit of this important medium for listening to music.
What’s In The Crate? (WITC) was established in Hempstead, New York, a town that has bred some of the most authentic emcees in hip hop (Method Man, Prodigy and Roc Marciano to name a few). With 15+ years engaging in the arts of DJing, Turntabilsm, Cratedigging and Beat production our founder Sid Nicolas has survived the compast disc fad, weathered the storm that was the birth of the MP3 and is now enjoying the golden days of the vinyl resurgence.
Vinyl, more so than any other method of listening to music, builds a sense of community. It not only enriches the life of its collectors, but connects people from all over the globe. WITC celebrates not only what vinyl culture was/is, but what it can and will be. From hip-hop and jazz to so many other amazing genres, Whats In The Crate encompasses the popular, the forgotten and the tragically unknown with the goal of creating one of the best History of Music lessons around.
Let’s celebrate music. Let’s celebrate Vinyl. And most importantly let’s celebrate culture it creates.
